- Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer
such as Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer* a week prior
to planting. Provide with sufficient amounts of water so
as not to burn the young seedlings.
- Fertilize late spring with a slow-release
high nitrogen fertilizer such as Pennington Lawn Food* which
has a N-P-K (link to Fertilizer Basics) of 27-4-6 for a
nice healthy green summer lawn.
- A controlled-Release Fertilizer
applied in the fall such as Pennington Lawn Food* or Winterizer*
will gradually continue feeding your lawn for up to 4 months.
(Note: Always water in your
fertilizer to prevent burning.)
- Most lawns require several feedings
per year:
Warm Season Grasses:
